What a fun meeting! Thanks to everyone who was able to join us for the September gathering and stash swap! Here's the September "newsletter" documenting resources mentioned during the sharing session or learned during group conversations, along with photos of some of the projects. Hopefully, the web-based format remains easy to use. At the moment, we continue to host this newsletter on the Reed and Flyer website, which Lora and Dave use occasionally. If you operate a website in conjunction with your fiber work, please send us a link; we'd gladly add it to the collection. We will not post a Fiber Friend's website without their permission. Hopefully, this will make it easier to follow up on meeting resources. Apologies if we missed something along the way. Images are also linked when websites are available.

This month, we are especially grateful to Gail Else for graciously taking all the extra stash items to the Elizabethtown Thrift Shop. Those who were at this month's meeting now have a little extra space for something new! We are also grateful to everyone who always pitches in to make sure we have refreshments, and to those who are able to add a few dollars to the box as a small thank you to Camp Dudley for allowing us to use the location.
Below are the planned meeting times for our gatherings for the rest of 2026. We will not meet in December.

Suzy shared that the Adirondack Art Association is looking for artists and vendors to add to their Essex studio in 2027. If you are interested or would like to learn more, please contact the association directly.

Indian Ridge Farm - Alpaca to Spin - From Jennifer St. Pierre
Jennifer brought some of her lovely alpaca to the September stash swap so the spinners and felters in the group could try her alpaca. Her herd of 38 alpacas grazes in Crown Point, and she is looking for folks to help spin the fiber. She offers a 50/50 split by weight of the fiber spun. (You get half, and she gets half of the spun fiber. ) She will also consider spinning-for-hire opportunities to help turn her fiber into yarn. TROLLS: Save the Humans, presented from June 1, 2026, to October 31, 2026, features six folklore-inspired Trolls who come to teach humans to rediscover nature and inspire them to be good stewards of the earth. This all-new touring exhibition featuring Thomas Dambo’s signature folklore-inspired troll sculptures are built from reclaimed materials and will delight visitors of all ages. The outdoor exhibition will fuse fairytales, whimsy, and incredible art installations to inspire visitors to explore themes such as recycling and reusing trash, the importance of plants and gardens, art, and more.
