Fiber Friends Notes from 3/18/2026
Friends,
Here's the March newsletter to document resources mentioned during the sharing session or learned during group conversations. Hopefully the web-based format continues to be easy to use. At the moment, it is housed on the Reed and Flyer website that Lora and Dave use occasionally. If you operate a website in conjunction with your fiber work, please send us a link; we'd gladly add it to the collection. We will not post a Fiber Friend's website without their permission. Hopefully, this will make following up on meeting resources easier. Apologies if we missed something along the way. Images are also linked when websites are available.

Hello knit and crochet enthusiasts!
I rarely send you anything, but I had to announce the new lines of yarn from Berroco. I am now carrying Ultra Alpaca (50% Alpaca, 50% Wool) in worsted weight, and Vintage DK (52% Acrylic, 40% Wool, 8% Nylon). I also have a fun color wave DK by Wool Addicts called Move 6-ply. It would be great as a color gradient for park hats or any color work for extra pop. Donna is knitting a Sophie scarf, and it is coming out beautifully. Also have Quaker Hill 50% Alpaca and 50% Wool on sale at 25% off, normally $16, now $12. The sale goes until April 8th. Hope to see you soon! Sue
Suzy Hokanson has invited all Fiber Friends to participate in the Fiber Arts collective that meets at the Strand Center. Says Suzy, "The next meeting is Wednesday, April 8th. We will be working on wet felting." Please contact Suzy Hokanson at SWHFiberWorks@gmail.com to let us know you plan to come or if you have any questions.

Sue Young from Young's Gallery in Jay, has compiled a list of Knitting and Fiber groups that have come to her attention in Essex County. Check out her list here.
Referenced by Dave Langston previously. Fiber tools are expensive. Sometimes it is better to take a tool for a "test drive" to see if you need it or if you really want to make the investment.
To list a tool you would like to make available to share, go here.
To see tools folks have listed and that are available, go here.
Members of the Fiber Friends group who have permitted their fiber-related websites to be included are listed below. If you operate a website and would like to be included, please send an email with the link to the site to dave@campdudley.org.
Sue Young owns and operates Young's Studio and Gallery in Jay. Sue said to mention Fiber Friends when you visit.

Just in case you are wondering, we did not create a gallery from every meeting. This happened by accident but it is a fun glimpse at some amazing projects and some great fellowship.
