Fiber Friends Notes from 4/15/2026
Friends,
Here's the April "newsletter" to document resources mentioned during the sharing session or learned during group conversations. Hopefully the web-based format continues to be easy to use. At the moment, it is housed on the Reed and Flyer website that Lora and Dave use occasionally. If you operate a website in conjunction with your fiber work, please send us a link; we'd gladly add it to the collection. We will not post a Fiber Friend's website without their permission. Hopefully, this will make following up on meeting resources easier. Apologies if we missed something along the way. Images are also linked when websites are available.

We are including this again because they have a great newsletter that folks might want to sign up for. It's worth a quick visit to their website. They really are a wonderful hub for all things fiber-related. Including the New York Fiber Trail, featuring Fiber Friends, Kirsten Liebl at Wollcru Farms, and Sue Young at Young's Studio and Gallery.
The mission of the Hudson Valley Textile Project is to strengthen the natural fiber industry by promoting collaboration, addressing supply chain gaps, supporting education, and providing marketing opportunities.
Harrisville Designs always puts out a great curriculum of classes! Check out the collection of classes and instructors.
Shelburne Craft School across the Lake in Shelburne, VT, also offers a good selection of classes. Gail has been to training there and speaks well of her experiences. Check out the selection.
Knitting / Fiber Art Groups in Essex County, NY
Sue Young from Young's Gallery in Jay, has compiled a list of Knitting and Fiber groups that have come to her attention in Essex County. Check out her list here.
Referenced by Dave Langston previously. Fiber tools are expensive. Sometimes it is better to take a tool for a "test drive" to see if you need it or if you really want to make the investment.
To list a tool you would like to make available to share, go here.
To see tools folks have listed and that are available, go here.
Members of the Fiber Friends group who have permitted their fiber-related websites to be included are listed below. If you operate a website and would like to be included, please send an email with the link to the site to dave@campdudley.org.
Sue Young owns and operates Young's Studio and Gallery in Jay. Sue said to mention Fiber Friends when you visit.

Just in case you are wondering, we did not create a gallery from every meeting. This happened by accident but it is a fun glimpse at some amazing projects and some great fellowship.
